Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital seeks a Patient Access Coordinator to manage registrations, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure correct room placement. You will use systems like SMS Rolodex and HDX to support billing and coordination with insurance providers.

The role emphasizes accurate data entry, patient communication, and timely status transfers in a fast-paced hospital setting under UHS guidelines.

Qualifications

• One-year hospital admitting or medical business office experience preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPI Certification to be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Effective verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills with physicians, the public and hospital staff.
• Ability to discuss personal and financial matters with patients or their representatives.
• Good problem solving and process efficiency skills.
• Knowledge of insurance benefits, covered services and collection procedures.
• General knowledge of office procedures and ability to work in an organized manner.
• Type 35–40 words per minute.
• Knowledge of computer keyboard.
