Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring for a full-time position in Illinois to support patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. This role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA compliance, and excellent patient service.

You will use EPIC EMR, collect demographics and co-pays, and coordinate with Financial Advocates to resolve patient liabilities. Rotating weekends/holidays and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Preferred: experience with insurance verification/eligibility tools, EPIC electronic medical record, patient liability estimation tools, electronic email, Microsoft Office, Internet and phone technology.

Responsibilities

• Creates and registers patients, verifies demographic, guarantor and insurance information.
• Collects co-pays and patient responsibilities at point of registration.
• Discusses financial information and refers to Financial Advocates as needed.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and protects patient confidentiality.
• Schedules appointments and handles cancellations and recalls as required.
• Provides excellent customer service and assists patients with directions, transportation, interpreters, etc.
• Monitors electronic health record work queues and follows department processes.
