Job summary

Midwest Refuah Health Center in Chicago is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) for Medical or Dental to manage the front desk, greet patients, verify insurance, schedule visits, collect copays, and ensure a smooth patient flow.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, HIPAA compliance, and experience with EHR/EMR systems. You will collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to deliver welcoming, efficient care to diverse patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior healthcare front-office experience preferred.
• Experience with EHR/EMR and scheduling systems preferred.
• Strong communication and patient-service skills, with HIPAA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors warmly and professionally, in person and by phone.
• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments to optimize provider schedules.
• Verify insurance eligibility and handle basic billing inquiries.
• Collect copayments and patient balances according to policies.
• Support patient reminders, outreach, and coordination with clinical staff.
