METHODIST MANSFIELD MEDICAL CENTER is seeking a Patient Representative to greet and schedule patients, verify insurance information, and register patients into the computer system. The role supports clinic efficiency and collaborates with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include collecting payments, updating demographic data, answering calls, and maintaining a neat reception area while adhering to confidentiality and office policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of front office procedures and medical terminology.
• Excellent grammar and spelling skills.
• Knowledge in operation of medical office technology systems.
• Ability to greet patients and answer the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
• Clear and concise spoken communication; ability to read and follow instructions.
• Organized in filing materials alphabetically or numerically.
• Ability to work well with patients, staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Greets, instructs and schedules patients; registers them in the computer system.
• Determines insurance benefits and verifies demographic data.
• Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties and follows scheduling policies.
• Collects payments and enters charges into the system.
• Registers new patients and verifies addresses, phones, and insurances.
• Answers calls, screens messages, and relays information to appropriate parties.
• Keeps front office and reception area neat and organized.
• Reports problems to the Office Manager and aids in problem solving.
• Attends educational sessions and staff meetings; inputs daily balances.
