Job summary

Qualifications

• Three to five years admitting and/or Financial Counseling preferred.
• Knowledge of governmental and managed care payer requirements.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication; HIPAA confidentiality.”

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and families to obtain necessary personal and financial information for admission/registration.
• Verifies insurance benefits and documents the verification process.
• Performs admitting/registration activities to ensure accurate data entry.
• Explains estimated financial responsibilities to patients and collects out-of-pocket estimates.
• Monitors self-pay balances and ensures compliance with policies and laws.
• Communicates effectively with clinical and revenue cycle staff to optimize workflow.
