Responsibilities include data entry, communicating payment options, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while maintaining high-quality customer service in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Obtain necessary personal and financial information for admission/registration.
• Verify patient insurance benefits and document the process.
• Enter complete and accurate information for admission/registration in a timely manner.
• Explain financial responsibilities and estimated out-of-pocket costs to patients.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and families to collect required information for admission/registration.
• Verify benefits and document the verification process in the system.
• Perform admitting/registration activities to capture accurate data quickly.
• Communicate options for payment plans and financial assistance to patients.
• Ensure eligibility verification is current for applicable patients (e.g., Medicare).
• Document all collection efforts and ensure AR balances reflect reality.
• Provide information about self-pay rates and ensure contracts align with self-pay terms.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and protect patient data.
