Job summary

Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital seeks a Patient Access Representative to generate clean bills for primary, secondary and tertiary payers and maximize upfront collections. You will interview patients to obtain information for admission, verify insurance benefits, and complete all admitting/registration activities with precise data entry.

The role focuses on minimizing accounts receivable exposure and ensuring accurate billing while guiding patients on payment options.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in admitting and/or Financial Counseling is preferred (3–5 years).
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality regulations essential.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients/relatives to collect personal and financial information for admission/registration.
• Verify insurance benefits and document verification process.
• Complete admitting/registration activities with accurate information.
• Communicate estimated financial responsibilities to patients and document accordingly.
• Ensure eligibility is re-verified for applicable patients (e.g., Medicare).
• Monitor daily census and ensure accuracy of patient location and program codes.
