Job summary

Highmark Health seeks a Patient Access professional to handle scheduling, preregistration, and benefit verification, ensuring accurate data for billing. You will identify insurance requirements, document authorizations, and communicate clearly with patients and providers.

Responsibilities include calculating patient liabilities, collecting payments, and posting transactions in the system while delivering a positive patient experience and maintaining strong working relationships with AHN staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year of related experience in medical, financial services, or customer service.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• Preferred: medical terminology and insurance verifications; call/service center experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduling and preregistration; verifies patient demographics and benefits; updates data for timely billing.
• Verifies insurance information with payors and follows up on authorizations/referrals.
• Calculates patient financial responsibilities and processes receipts and post-payment transactions.
• Delivers positive patient experience and maintains strong relationships with patients and staff.
• Adheres to policies and completes required training.
