Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Services Representative I in Rome, GA to greet patients, collect information, verify insurance and manage the financial clearance process. You will coordinate the registration and scheduling, provide accurate cost estimates and direct patients to financial counseling as needed.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; patient access experience in scheduling, registration and financial clearance is preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, and EMTALA rules and ability to comply with updates.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents and communicate clearly with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage their arrival, ensuring efficient and courteous service.
• Complete patient registration, verify insurance and collect demographic information.
• Explain and collect patient financial liability and assist with financial clearance as needed.
• Refer patients to Financial Counselor when needed for financial assistance.
• Process visit closures and schedule follow-ups while providing necessary documents.
• Maintain knowledge of current payer requirements and pre-authorization policies.
• Communicate issues to management to improve service and productivity.
• Meet productivity and accuracy targets to deliver high-quality patient experience.
