Job summary

Advocate Health in Rome, GA seeks a full-time Patient Access representative for the Vein Center. You will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance, and complete registrations while ensuring accurate data entry and billing.

The role requires strong communication and a focus on accuracy. Daily duties include collecting balances, coordinating with Financial Counselors when needed, and guiding patients through follow-up appointments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; patient access experience preferred.
• Experience with scheduling, registration and financial clearance preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA and insurance rules helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and monitors flow to ensure efficient, courteous service.
• Verifies patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy.
• Completes registration for walk-in patients and updates info as needed.
• Calculates and collects patient out-of-pocket liability and balances.
• Supports financial clearance and refers to Financial Counselor when needed.
• Handles visit closure, schedules follow-ups, and provides necessary documents.
• Maintains knowledge of payer policies and referenced insurance plans.
• Communicates process-improvement ideas to management.
• Meets productivity and accuracy targets and collaborates with staff.
