Job summary

AdventHealth Deland is seeking a Patient Financial Services associate to perform Medicare compliance reviews, estimate patient financial responsibility, and secure pre-authorizations. You will coordinate with treatment teams and insurers to ensure timely, accurate billing and documentation.

The role requires mature judgement, strong communication skills, and familiarity with HIPAA and CMS guidelines in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Professional and effective written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Contacts insurance companies to verify eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Registers patients for all services ensuring accuracy and reducing duplicate records.
