AdventHealth is seeking a part-time Patient Access Specialist in DeLand, FL to support Medicare compliance reviews, patient registrations, and insurance verifications. You will coordinate with clinical staff to ensure timely pre-authorizations and accurate billing, while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• Mature judgement when interacting with patients, physicians, and insurers.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic database programs.
• Operate common office equipment (computer, fax, printer, scanner).
• Able to learn multiple tasks and organize work efficiently.
• Communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Adapt to a changing healthcare environment and follow complex instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue ANC when needed.
• Create estimates of patient financial responsibility and collect payments.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorizations and logistics.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations timely.
• Register patients for services with accuracy and minimal record duplication.
• Document conversations with patients and insurers, including payment arrangements.
