Job summary

AdventHealth in DeLand, FL is seeking a part-time Medicare compliance specialist to support patient financial services. You will perform notices, verify eligibility, register patients, collect payments, and coordinate with care teams to ensure smooth access.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong customer service, HIPAA knowledge, and bilingual English/Spanish. Day shift availability; opportunities for growth within AdventHealth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Mature judgement when dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue ABNs as needed.
• Estimate patient financial responsibility and collect payments or arrange payment plans.
• Coordinate with utilization management for pre-authorizations.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations within established timeframes.
• Register patients accurately and minimize duplication of medical records.
• Provide exceptional customer service and document conversations with patients and insurers.
