Job summary

Ascendis Pharma's Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field‑based role educating patients and caregivers on disease state, product access, and reimbursement pathways. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of direct patient support experience.
• Clinical/Allied Health degree/licensure preferred, with 5+ years in pediatrics, endocrinology, neurology, ENT, orthopedics, or related areas.
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience with education of patients and caregivers on injections and reimbursement challenges.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, FDA, and OIG guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for patients and caregivers for education on disease state, Ascendis products, and access.
• Develop and maintain relationships with patients and caregivers in person and virtually.
• Assess patient needs to create an action plan empowering patient advocacy using approved resources.
• Educate patients and caregivers on disease state and product using approved materials.
• Explain insurance coverage and therapy access processes to patients.
• Provide medication administration education when coverage is established.
• Share information on affordability resources as needed.
• Manage long-term relationships with patients and care teams with tailored communication plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams as needed.
• Partner with Patient Advocacy and attend education symposia as required.
• Coordinate with Patient Safety and PV to report AEs and product complaints.
• Adhere to all company compliance programs and policies.
