Job summary

Amgen’s Patient Access Liaison (PAL) is a field-based role focused on supporting patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in navigating insurance coverage and reimbursement for Amgen therapies. The PAL helps address prior authorizations, coding, billing, and patient assistance programs.

Working with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, and Site of Care teams, this role aims to ensure timely access to therapies while educating stakeholders on payer requirements and reimbursement

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: Doctorate, OR Masters with 2 years of patient services/access experience, OR Bachelors with 4 years of experience, OR Associates with 8 years, OR High school with 10 years of experience.
• Basic Qualifications - Level 6: Doctorate with 2 years of related experience, Master’s with 4 years, or Bachelor’s with 6 years.
• Preferred Qualifications: experience with buy-and-bill, rare disease or orphan drugs, clinical background, HIPAA and regulatory knowledge, strong analytical and communication skills
• Travel up to 50% and matrix field environment experience

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource on patient access and reimbursement for infused and specialty therapies.
• Educate providers and sites of care on coverage pathways and prior authorization requirements.
• Assist patients, caregivers, and providers with insurance benefits, billing considerations, and reimbursement processes.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, and Site of Care teams to support patient access initiatives.
• Escalate complex reimbursement issues to appropriate stakeholders and ensure documentation is complete.
