Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is seeking a Patient Access Liaison (PAL) to educate patients and caregivers while guiding them through insurance and reimbursement for therapy. This field-based role collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure timely access and safe, appropriate treatment initiation.

The PAL will travel up to 50% (including overnight), developing relationships with patients and care teams and providing disease and product education, access planning, and affordability guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of direct patient support experience.
• Ability to explain disease state, product, and access concepts to consumers.
• HIPAA, FDA requirements, and OIG Compliance guidelines familiarity.
• Experience with patient education and reimbursement obstacles.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight trips.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for education on disease state and therapy access.
• Develop relationships with patients and caregivers via in-person and virtual visits.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage and reimbursement processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely access to therapy.
• Report adverse events and product issues in collaboration with PV and QA.
