Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is seeking a Patient Access Liaison (PAL) to educate patients and caregivers, support insurance processes, and guide access to therapy. This field-based role collaborates with internal teams to ensure timely access, safe initiation, and proper product use, traveling to patient homes as needed.

The PAL will conduct product and disease state education, assist with affordability resources, and maintain long-term relationships with care teams, while complying with HIPAA and FDA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in a direct patient support role.
• Clinical/Allied Health degree preferred, with clinical experience in pediatrics or related fields.
• At least two years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Experience with educating patients on reimbursement obstacles and product administration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for education on disease state, products, and access.
• Develop and maintain relationships with patients and caregivers through in-person and virtual interactions.
• Assess patient needs to develop action plans empowering patient advocacy.
• Educate patients on disease state, product, and insurance processes using approved resources.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage and therapy access.
• Conduct medication administration education as coverage is established.
• Provide information on affordability resources as needed.
• Maintain long-term relationships with patients and care teams with tailored communication plans.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with Patient Advocacy.
• Report adverse events and product complaints per PV and compliance guidelines.
