Job summary

Carle Health in Illinois is seeking a dynamic Patient Access leader to unite people, technology, operations, and strategy to create an exceptional patient and team experience across admitting, ED registration, surgical services registration, outpatient registration, operators, outpatient lab and EKG services.

You will develop high-performing teams, improve workflows, and oversee budgets, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance to ensure staff have the tools to succeed.

Qualifications

• Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) within 2 years.
• Bachelor's Degree in Related Field required.
• 3–5 years of work experience in Patient Access or related area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching and performance management.
• Champion the patient experience by ensuring timely, compassionate service.
• Drive operational excellence by evaluating workflows and processes.
• Oversee registration, insurance eligibility and verification, authorizations, financial counseling, pre-service estimates, and collections.
• Ensure registration accuracy by auditing data and addressing errors.
• Monitor work queues, patient volumes, staffing, and department expenses.
• Provide orientation and cross-training to staff, ensuring competencies.
• Maintain regulatory and operational compliance with healthcare requirements.
• Partner with ED, Inpatient, Outpatient, and Revenue Cycle leaders to solve problems.
• Turn data into action using audits and patient experience results to drive improvements.
