Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Patient Access & Care Team associate to support the patient experience. This role links the clinic and patient interactions, handling inquiries, scheduling, and insurance verification while maintaining accurate records across systems.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, basic medical terminology knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Hours include Fri evenings and weekend shifts in a supportive healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of customer service and ability to work with a variety of patients and patient situations.
• Ability to follow workflows in a structured environment.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is helpful but not required.
• Basic understanding of computers and desktop software packages.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Link the patient experience between PACT and the practice site using policies.
• Assist inbound callers and make outbound calls as needed.
• Troubleshoot basic online applications and access issues.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate cancellations/reschedules.
• Verify demographic and insurance information and maintain accuracy.
• Update medical records with patient information.
• Route calls for triage and escalate to RN when needed.
• Provide customer service and document interactions across systems.
• Support marketing efforts with referral information and reporting.
• Maintain knowledge of information systems used by the department.
