Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Patient Access Coordinator to handle scheduling, preregistration, financial clearance, authorization and referral validation, and pre-serviceability estimations. You will create a positive first impression for patients and families, and document information accurately to communicate financial responsibilities.

You will train colleagues as needed and support ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of related experience, preferably in medical, financial services or customer service.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and preregisters patients, validates demographics, verifies benefits and COB code.
• Identifies payor authorization/referral requirements and coordinates with physicians and payors.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, estimates amounts, and posts payments in the ADT system.
