Job summary

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in hospital/clinic or related field preferred.
• Aptitude for familiarity with patient access tools and systems.
• Microsoft Office required.
• Excellent customer service/communications skills.
• Comfortable with the collection process and securing solutions for uninsured patients.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Teamwork-oriented and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Greets, receives and escorts patients as required and consistent with customer service guidelines.
• Collects and verifies patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and financial information and documents in hospital systems.
• Ensures proper use of SOPs and supporting tools and websites.
• Identifies balances, educates patients on financial responsibilities, and collects amounts due.
• Screens self-pay patients and facilitates solution or payment processes.
• Interviews patients to facilitate timely solutions (ED only).
• Assists patients in establishing secured installment plans when applicable.
• Ensures HIPAA and regulatory requirements are met and completes registration paperwork.
• Meets performance standards in quality, collections, customer service, security/screening, and productivity.
• Delivers exemplary customer service and collaborates with other departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
