Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient registration, insurance, and hospital billing preferred.
• Medical terminology knowledge and understanding of third party reimbursement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers or Pre-registers all scheduled patients for admission, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization for services requiring authorization or pre-certification.
• Coordinates with patients and scheduling to reschedule procedures until authorization or payment is arranged.
• Updates schedule for cancellations, rescheduling and other changes on an ongoing basis.
