Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH seeks a patient service/administrative specialist to greet visitors, verify insurance, collect payments and coordinate appointments. You will support billing, referrals and records with strong communication and organization. A CPR certificate and prior ambulatory care exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; vocational education preferred.
• Experience in a medical ambulatory setting is required.
• Current CPR certification or obtained within 3 months and maintained.
• Proficient PC use; strong typing; MS Outlook, Excel and Word desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, vendors and visitors and notify staff of arrivals.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
• Collect co-pays, post payments and manage account forms.
• Schedule appointments and maintain daily billing records.
• Answer phones, screen calls and route to appropriate staff.
• Maintain waiting area and inventory to support patient care.
