Job summary

baptisthlth is seeking a Patient Access professional to join a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, strong customer service, and adherence to privacy guidelines. Training will be provided to ensure readiness for Level 1 responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of patient access experience, with bilingual abilities preferred. Knowledge of insurance basics, EMR usage, and regulatory guidelines is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1+ year Patient Access experience required for internal staff.
• Meets/exceeds BHSF registration accuracy and productivity standards for the last 6 months.
• Exceeds departmental KPIs.
• Identified as a team player and cross trained in multiple areas to substitute all staff positions.
• For external staff: Associates Degree preferred with 1 year Patient Access experience, or 2 years experience in lieu of degree.
• Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment and perform basic math.
• Detail oriented, organized, team player with compassionate customer service and interpersonal communication.
• Desired: HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Medicare guidelines knowledge; understanding of contracts, authorizations/pre-certifications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; Healthcare regulations.
• Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred.
