Job summary

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Part-Time Patient Services Representative in the Philadelphia area. You will greet patients and families, collect demographics and insurance details, process payments, and coordinate referrals and authorizations as needed.

The role involves daily EPIC usage, scheduling, and ensuring HIPAA compliance while delivering compassionate, efficient service to all patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of patient services/healthcare experience.
• Experience with medical records, registration or billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and families with welcoming, prompt, respectful service; schedule appointments and communicate delays.
• Enter demographic and insurance information accurately in EPIC; verify eligibility daily.
• Process payments, reconcile services, and obtain insurance referrals and authorizations as needed.
• Answer phones promptly; document contact information and messages; triage calls as needed.
• Assist in administrative tasks: mail, faxes, medical records, photocopies and document handling.
• Participate in team huddles, maintain patient records and HIPAA-compliant schedules.
