Job summary

Intermountain Health in Roy, Utah, seeks a compassionate Patient Service Representative to be the first contact for patients. You will greet, check-in, and support patient intake and care while delivering courteous service.

Responsibilities include documenting calls in the EMR, scheduling visits, collecting demographics and insurance data, and guiding patients through forms and billing steps. Strong communication and PHI protection are essential.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, professional connections with patients by phone, in person, or via secure messaging.
• Document all calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Register patients by confirming, entering, and updating demographic data on the registration system.
• Verify insurance information and collect necessary IDs, may include COB coordination of benefits.
• Assist patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs.
• Educate patients on financial assistance and process payments.
