Mainline Health Systems, Inc is seeking a Patient Support Specialist to join the Patient Support department. The role involves front-desk clerical duties, patient registration, insurance verification, and daily financial close-out activities.

You will work with the care team to support a Patient Centered Medical Home model and ensure smooth patient flow. Five years of secretarial experience is desirable and high school diploma is required.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Secretarial training program preferred; experience may substitute.
• Five years secretarial experience desirable.
• Ability to use current office machines and equipment.
• Typing at least 60 words per minute is required.
• Must communicate effectively with staff, public, patients and community health staff.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner and address questions.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and provide needed information.
• Answer and transfer calls or forward telephone encounters.
• Advise eligible patients for sliding fee scale and required documents.
• Collect patient fees and manage registration and check-in/out.
• Perform duties to meet goals of providing primary health care.
• Confirm future appointments and handle daily close-out, balancing and deposits.
• Maintain the lobby appearance and direct patient flow.
• Notify staff of provider schedule changes and emergencies.
• Verify insurance numbers and PCP assignments; manage Medicaid referrals.
• Enter and scan records into the EMR daily.
• Complete ongoing training as required.
