Job summary

PRISM Vision Group is seeking a Patient Service Representative for our Spokane Eye Clinic in Spokane Valley, WA. This onsite, non-exempt role handles inbound and outbound patient interactions, scheduling, and logistics, while guiding patients through registration, insurance verification, and payment policies.

You will support care teams, assist with pre-registration, HIPAA compliance, and revenue cycle tasks, ensuring a smooth patient flow and excellent service.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience: 2+ years in a patient-facing healthcare or customer service function preferred.
• Bi-lingual a plus.
• Must possess HIPAA privacy/confidentiality knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete patient registrations for appointments with attention to policies and accuracy.
• Initiate pre-registration and ensure demographic and insurance data are current.
• Verify insurance information, benefits, and referrals.
• Obtain IDs and insurance cards and validate patient identity and coverage before services.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards related to privacy and confidentiality.
• Facilitate smooth patient flow through the clinical care process.
• Provide patients with information on appointments, payments, and policies.
• Offer upfront financial counseling and discuss payment plans when needed.
• Advise patients of financial obligations and collect payments per guidelines.
• Act as liaison for patients, physicians and staff to resolve issues.
• Notify relevant parties about appointment, referrals, insurance verification, and prior authorizations.
• Train other PSRs and deliver strong customer service.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
