Job summary

Optum is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator (Adult Medicine) to support clinic operations, including patient check-in, insurance verification, and scheduling. Based in the Houston area, this role follows a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST schedule and offers comprehensive benefits.

You will interact with patients, assist with registration, manage records, and collaborate with a team focused on efficient care delivery and health equity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage wait times.
• Complete check-in and check-out tasks including insurance verification and precertification.
• Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles; manage cashier tasks and deposits.
• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Maintain medical records and logs; handle releases as needed.
• Establish effective relationships with patients, staff and the public.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
