Job summary

Northern Light Health, in strategic partnership with Optum, is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator in Brewer, ME. This role focuses on accurate pre-registration, demographic and insurance data collection, and coordinating with departments to support timely patient starts.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and at least 6 months of office or call center experience, plus basic Windows PC skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 6+ months of experience in an office or customer service setting (phone or in person).
• Beginner to intermediate proficiency with Windows PC applications.
• Ability to work 8:00am–4:30pm EST, Monday–Friday.
• Ability to complete onsite training before transitioning to work from home/remote.
• Vaccination requirements may apply depending on state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to patients, providers, and departments in person or by phone.
• Collects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• Engages other departments to assist with patient questions or needs.
• Explains benefits and collects copays or liabilities prior to service.
• Maintains productivity and accuracy goals and adheres to policies.
• Escalates issues to leadership to ensure pre-registration and financial clearance prior to service date.
• Verifies insurance coverage and benefits and updates records accordingly.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
