Job summary

Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact for patients. The role focuses on delivering excellent customer/patient satisfaction by greeting, checking in/out, and verifying patient information.

The PSR will document in the EMR, schedule appointments, collect demographics and insurance data, assist with forms, and guide patients through financial processes.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills for word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and caregivers.
• Ability to protect PHI and patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional connections with patients by phone, in person, or messaging, ensuring a superior experience.
• Document calls accurately in the EMR.
• Schedule patient appointments for visits, tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Register patients by confirming and updating demographic data in the system.
• Assist with insurance information collection and forms; educate on financial assistance and payments.
