Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of front office procedures and medical terminology.
• Excellent grammar and spelling skills.
• Proficiency with medical office technology systems.

Responsibilities

• Greets, instructs and schedules patients.
• Registers patients into the computer system and verifies demographics and insurance information.
• Assists patients with ambulatory difficulties and follows scheduling policies.
• Collects payments and enters charges into the system.
• Answers telephone, screens calls and routes information to appropriate parties.
• Maintains neat reception and work areas.
• Reports problems to the Practice Manager and assists in problem solving.
• Attends staff meetings as scheduled.
• Determines and inputs daily balance of charges and receipts.
