Job summary

The role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and the ability to work with clinical staff to support patient care. A high school education is required; training on medical management software is provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of front office procedures and medical terminology.
• Excellent grammar and spelling skills.
• Experience with medical office technology systems.
• Previous two years in a front office using medical management software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Check-in patients, verify and update demographic and insurance information.
• Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties and follow scheduling policies.
• Collect payments and enter charges into computer system.
• Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and conveys information.
• Maintain work area and reception area in neat and orderly manner.
• Advise Practice Manager of problems and concerns in the Front Office.
• Attend educational and staff meetings as scheduled.
• Determine and input daily balance of charges and receipts.
