Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking an organized front desk associate for its ophthalmology unit in Georgia. The role involves greeting patients, verifying demographics and insurance, and guiding the registration and financial clearance processes to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include completing walk-in registrations, calculating patient liabilities, and coordinating with Financial Counselors when necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Patient access (scheduling, registration, and financial clearance), insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA rules and insurance pre-certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and manages patient flow for efficiency and courtesy.
• Verifies and updates patient demographic and insurance information.
• Completes registration for walk-ins and collects out-of-pocket liability.
• Supports financial clearance and refers to Financial Counselor as needed.
• Performs visit closure, schedules follow-ups, and provides required documentation.
