Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, is seeking a full-time Specialist Registration to support patient access and billing processes.

Responsibilities include collecting demographics, verifying insurance, estimating patient liability, and ensuring timely billing, while upholding patient confidentiality and compassionate service. Ideal candidates have strong data entry and communication skills, familiarity with EPIC and registration systems, and the ability to work collaboratively

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in clerical or customer service roles preferred.
• Ability to navigate EPIC and registration systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and/or family members to obtain accurate financial and demographic information to ensure prompt payment.
• Verifies the patient’s insurance through the online eligibility system and determines which payer to enter in the account to minimize denials.
• For outpatient exams, completes an estimate of charges to determine patient’s liability.
• For all other patients, determines financial liability from the insurance response and collects any amount due from the patient.
• Scans all required documents and obtains signatures from patients.
• Follows AIDET principles, greets and assists patients, and interacts with staff while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Provides wheelchair assistance to patients/visitors and transports as needed.
• Cross-trains to other Registration areas and relocates as needed per patient volumes.
• Attends department meetings and adheres to policies and procedures.
