Job summary

EvergreenHealth in Kirkland, WA, is seeking a patient access associate to serve as the first point of contact in a fast-paced call center. You will coordinate patient registration, scheduling, payments, and navigation to appropriate clinical staff to ensure a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities include managing multi-line phone systems, arranging interpreter services, verifying insurance, promoting patient portal enrollment, and directing urgent requests with clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with diverse individuals.
• Ability to problem solve, stay calm under pressure, and respond professionally.
• Strong written communication skills and legible spelling.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Active listening and de-escalation as appropriate.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and follow protocols and guidelines.
• Proficient keyboarding and Windows-based software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of patient scheduling for in-person and virtual visits.
• Arrange interpreter services to meet patient needs.
• Verify and explain insurance coverage and co-pays.
• Promote patient portal enrollment and engagement.
• Manage multi-line telephone system (incoming and outgoing).
• Direct emergent or urgent patient calls to clinical staff for screening.
• Handle message management and coordinate communications with clinic staff.
• Manage work queues and respond promptly to pending requests.
• Send letters, portal messages or calls to communicate information.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
