Job summary

FMOLHS Career Portal seeks a Patient Access representative for Internal Medicine at Hennessy in Baton Rouge. You will register patients in Epic, verify insurance, collect payments, and ensure a best-in-class patient experience under supervision.

You will support billing processes, review referrals, and assist patients with access to MyChart and resources while maintaining accuracy and courteous service.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in a customer service/front desk role or a front office/medical office program graduate.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients in EMR and verify insurance coverage with accuracy and completeness.
• Explain billing procedures and anticipated charges to inform patients of liability.
• Welcome patients, answer questions, and ensure courteous service with minimal complaints.
• Update patient records and enter charges accurately in the clinic system.
• Coordinate with physicians and staff to complete referrals per payor requirements.
• Back up for other team members and support clinic operations as needed.
