Job summary

FMOLHS is seeking a Patient Access Representative for the Adult Urology Surgery department in Baton Rouge. The role focuses on accurate patient registration in the EMR, insurance verification, and collection of payments while ensuring a best-in-class patient experience.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient flow, assisting with referrals, and ensuring accurate documentation. A front desk background and 6 months of customer service experience are preferred, with Epic proficiency anticipated

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in a customer service/front desk role or related program.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Proficiency in Epic during introductory period is expected.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately in EMR and verify insurance coverage.
• Collect required payments and explain charges to patients.
• Schedule and manage patient flow to ensure efficient clinic visits.
• Assist with referrals and access to government/community resources.
• Communicate with patients and families with professional demeanor.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure data integrity.
