The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and experience in patient access, billing, or similar roles, with strong data entry and HIPAA compliance skills.

Qualifications

• GHS: High school diploma or GED required; medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with patient access tasks such as scheduling, registration and financial clearance is preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer requirements is beneficial.
• Ability to manage confidential information and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage flow to ensure courteous, efficient service.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
• Complete registration for walk-in patients and verify changes.
• Verify insurance benefits and collect out-of-pocket liability.
• Assist with financial clearance and refer to Financial Counselor when needed.
• Perform visit closure, schedule follow-ups, and provide necessary documents.
• Maintain knowledge of payer requirements and pre-certification rules.
• Communicate issues to management and meet productivity targets.
