Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in a hospital/clinic/physician office preferred.
• Aptitude for familiarity with patient access tools, systems and technologies.
• Microsoft Office required.
• Excellent customer service/communications skills.
• Comfortable with collection process and uninsured solutions.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Proven ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greets, receives and escorts patients per customer service guidelines.
• Collects demographics, insurance eligibility and financial info; documents in system.
• Use and follow SOPs, tools, software and websites accurately.
• Identify current balances; educate patients on financial responsibilities and collect.
• Screen self-pay patients and facilitate solution applications or payments.
• Interview patients bedside as needed to facilitate timely solutions (ED only).
• Assist with secured installment plans when applicable.
• Ensure hospital/regulatory requirements are met (HIPAA, rights, proxies).
• Complete registration paperwork to facilitate patient flow and meet targets.
• Deliver exemplary customer service; work with other departments and peers.
