Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) operates within the Medical University of South Carolina to deliver care across the rural health network in South Carolina. This front desk role provides administrative coverage, manages the clinic appointment line, schedules appointments for disparate patients, takes payments, completes registrations, and retrieves billing charges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year patient care experience.
• Certified Nursing Assistant or EMT/Paramedic certification is acceptable.
• Bachelor’s degree also qualifies.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient operations of the physician medical office, including scheduling, patient registration, telephone triage, medical records, billing and collections.
• Coordinate daily clinic preparation, patient identification, check-in/out, charge posting, cash handling and appointment scheduling.
• Deliver strong customer service, manage message distribution, ancillary scheduling and referrals.
