Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to gather and verify patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate billing and effective communication regarding treatment and billing issues.

The role supports front-line patient services, including collecting payments, directing patients, and coordinating with billing and admissions staff to ensure smooth patient flow and proper documentation.

Qualificações

• Education preferred: a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in healthcare and/or customer service is preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook; money management skills; ability to communicate in a pleasant, professional, concise, and caring manner.

Responsabilidades

• Verifying Demographic patient information including address, phone number, insurance
• Obtaining pre-certs and insurance authorizations for scheduled procedures
• Collection of co-pays, deductibles, and deposits
• Directing and escorting patients and visitors to designated locations
• Provides a resource for billing and payment inquiries
• Oversees cashier responsibilities in posting payments and creating deposits facility specific
• Maintains accuracy through provided vendor service and department policy
• Complete all required annual competencies
• Adheres to Hospital procedure in regards to requirements for outpatient orders
• Obtains room assignments through provided vendor services and communicates admissions to appropriate Nursing and clinical staff
