Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System is seeking an Admitting Registrar to collect patient demographics, verify eligibility, benefits and pre-cert requirements for inpatients and Behavioral Health patients in partial or IOP programs.

The role ensures all admission documents are signed and filed, routes insurance information to Registration management daily, and coordinates with Case Management to obtain pre-certifications and arrange payment plans as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of registration experience preferred.
• Healthcare facility experience is an asset.
• Ability to use a calculator and type at least 35 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic information for inpatients and Behavioral Health patients.
• Verify eligibility, benefits and pre-cert requirements for admission.
• Ensure all admission documents are signed and placed on the medical chart.
• Provide insurance information to Registration management daily.
• Coordinate with Case Management to obtain pre-certifications and payment arrangements as needed.
