Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to join its admissions team in Alabama. This role focuses on collecting and verifying patient demographics, insurance information, and coordinating pre-authorization for procedures, while delivering friendly, patient-centered service.

You will handle co-pays, deposits, and direct patients to the right services, supporting billing inquiries and posting payments. Exceptional communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualificações

• Education: high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: healthcare environment and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Computers/MS Office: knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Verifying demographic information including address and phone number.
• Obtaining pre-certs and insurance authorizations for scheduled procedures.
• Collecting co-pays, deductibles, and deposits.
• Directing and escorting patients and visitors to designated locations.
• Providing a resource for billing and payment inquiries.
• Overseeing cashier responsibilities in posting payments and creating deposits.
• Maintaining accuracy through vendor services and department policies.
• Completing annual competencies.
• Adhering to hospital procedures for outpatient orders.
• Obtaining room assignments and communicating admissions to staff.
