• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three to five years of healthcare experience in a physician office or hospital setting.
• Prior billing office and collection experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong data entry and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial screening to scheduled, admitted inpatient and discharged patients in a hospital setting.
• Confirm patient insurance eligibility and provide benefits review.
• Review benefits to ensure understanding of coverage for services.
• Create cost estimates for services and communicate estimated costs to patients.
• Post payments and assist in creating payment plans for services and/or balances.
• Assist patients with questions and concerns about balances and questions.
• Coordinate and complete financial assistance applications for charity care.
