Qualifications

• High school diploma; continued education preferred.
• Pass Patient Access Academy with score 85% or higher.
• Experience in Patient Access Advocate II/III advancement paths.
• Minimum 2 years in healthcare Patient Access or billing with customer service.
• Strong knowledge of insurance and financial processing of accounts.
• Proficient in EPIC ADT system.
• CHAA, CHAM or similar certification preferred.
• Annual competency exam and EPIC proficiency with 85% score required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect accurate demographic and financial information.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; obtain missing details as needed.
• Review queues for pre-visit authorization and financial clearance.
• Ensure correct CPT, facility, and date of service authorization.
• Communicate with payers and physicians to resolve discrepancies.
• Educate patients about benefits, liabilities, and financial options.
