Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque is hiring a Patient Access Advocate for PRESNow. This role performs primary registration of patient accounts at the point of service, verifying demographics and insurance, and collecting liabilities to ensure clean billing.

You will provide top-tier service to patients and guide them through insurance details and benefits. As a full-time daytime position, you’ll support the PRESNow urgent care network, adhere to CMS guidelines, and help patients

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months healthcare or 1 year customer service experience.
• Pass 2 week Patient Access Academy with 85%+.
• CHAA/CHAM or equivalent certification preferred.
• Basic understanding of insurance, billing codes and terminology.
• Proficient use of Epic and Microsoft Office.
• Keyboarding skills for efficient data entry.

Responsibilities

• Register patient accounts and verify demographics and insurance.
• Collect point-of-service liabilities and ensure accurate enrollment.
• Provide high levels of customer service at the time of service.
• Educate patients about insurance benefits and potential liabilities.
• Ensure accounts are financially cleared at the time of service.
