Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Patient Support Advocate to support pharmacy benefits and patient assistance programs. The role involves handling call center inquiries, assisting with insurance eligibility, and coordinating with pharmacists and clinic staff to obtain clinical and financial information for program enrollment.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years healthcare experience, or can be a Registered Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications

• 1+ years Healthcare experience (Required) or Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician status will be accepted in lieu of experience.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Call Center Support: Answer incoming calls and respond to digital communications; assist providers and patients by greeting them by phone and routing inquiries to pharmacists.
• Medication Assistance (Access) Support: Enroll patients in PAP/MAP and related programs; document patient status in databases; evaluate self-pay patients for eligibility.
• Display customer service at a high level, support new team initiatives, and escalate issues to supervisors as needed.
