Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a Patient Access Associate I. You will handle pre-registration, registration, admissions, and financial counseling to maximize reimbursement while delivering excellent customer service across the health system.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, and assisting patients with payment arrangements. Prior experience in healthcare registration is preferred, with bilingual skills a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to perform essential functions.
• 0-1 year experience in healthcare registration or relevant customer service environment.
• Knowledge of general computer and data entry functions.
• Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent customer service with internal and external customers.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• HFMA CRCR certification preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient pre-registration, registration, general admissions, and financial assistance processing.
• Verify insurance information and obtain required authorizations and referrals.
• Communicate with payors and physician offices to resolve authorization or benefit issues.
• Collect payments, post transactions, and manage payment arrangements.
• Provide high-quality customer service at each entry point and support performance improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with Patient Access team and other departments as needed.
