Qualifications

• Two years of college (secretarial/health related) or equivalent work experience.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Proven typing ability (40 wpm) and computer skills (Meditech).
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak the English language clearly; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and/or family for inpatient or outpatient services at the hospital.
• Enter demographic and insurance information into the registration system; verify accuracy.
• Ensure upfront cash collection and proper insurance reimbursement.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies or special situations in the ED with referral involvement as needed.
